ULTepap Replacement Headgear

This is the single size replacement headgear strap for the ULTepap EPAP system. The ULTepap employs soft, comfortable nasal pillows to gently seal primarily on the epidermis under the user’s nares. The headgear strap holds the EPAP system in place to provide a tight seal. The head strap will need to be replaced every 3-6 months or sooner depending on user care. Oils from the hair can break down the material of the ULTepap over time and cause the elasticity to lose a seal, this is an indicator to replace.

ULTepap™ is FDA cleared for the treatment of mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) for adults over 66 lbs. This therapy device has a number of uses in the clinical management of OSA. These include:

• Users who are non-adherent to CPAP therapy.
• Users who travel and would like a more portable solution that doesn’t require a power source.
• Users diagnosed with mild to moderate OSA who would prefer to initiate a less cumbersome therapy than CPAP.

What Is EPAP?

EPAP stands for Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure, meaning positive pressure is only exerted during exhaling. Most sleep apnea sufferers are only familiar with CPAP, which provides continuous pressure administered through a blower and mask.

Of course, this can lead to a great deal of discomfort related to ill-fitting equipment, difficulty in traveling with the CPAP machine, cleaning, noise, and even embarrassment related to its use. EPAP works with your own exhalation, meaning no power source or additional equipment is necessary.
